A chance meeting with a young girl softens Elizabeth's heart towards Darcy early on in the story. As the truth of the young girl's origins comes to light, Lizzy must grapple with how to reconcile her feelings for Darcy with what she feels she owes to her family...and herself. 
As always, the themes and quotes in this book inspire further reflection. What is gossip? Can it ever be helpful, or is it always hurtful? Was Lizzy being selfish in the original P&P when she denied not just one, but TWO eligible marriage proposals, putting her emotional needs over her family's future economical needs? Haunting Mr. Darcy - by KaraLynne Mackrory

A New Year's wish from both Darcy and Elizabeth mash up to create some supernatural hijinks in Haunting Mr. Darcy! While being together 24/7 helps to speed up the development of romantic feelings in our favorite couple, the fact that Elizabeth is a ghost creates some problems. 
This was one of the first Pride and Prejudice variations that Emilie read (and really, one of the first that Alicia read, too!) and when comparing it to the other variations...there are thoughts. Lots of thoughts!

Tempt Me - by Julie Cooper

This week, we take a sharp turn into the world of supernatural Pride and Prejudice variations with Julie Cooper's Tempt Me, a mash up between P&P and vampire lore. Emilie thinks the world building is amazing; Alicia thinks there is a lot of blood. And discussions about blood. But, as Alicia says, we're not here to yuck other people's yum! We're just having fun trying something new.
